Hongkong Getaway: Airline Booking

For our Hongkong trip, I was in charged of the booking. So, mega-search ako ng super cheap flights to Hongkong. I looked for different airlines with flights bound from Manila to Hongkong and vice versa. I've found Tiger Airways, Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, Cathay Pacific and DragonAir. Expectedly, Cebu Pacific offered the cheapest rate. Unfortunately, there were no seats on sale in time of my booking. 

I also looked for different deals from different group buying sites like Ensogo, Metrodeal, Okayokay to name a few, but all deals were for packaged tours. Upon discussion with the Mendoza team, we opted for DIY Hongkong tour.

For the airline booking, obviously, we have chosen Cebu Pac. For our tickets, we had two options:

1. Leave on January 2, since the other 3 Mendozas (Ortizes) will be arriving in Hongkong from Dubai on the said date.

2. Leave on January 1, because the price is cheaper.

We opted for #2. So, I booked 5 persons for Jan 1 to 6, 2013 travel via Cebu Pacific online facility and paid thru Visa Credit Card.

Rightly after [I think] two weeks, Cebu Pacific offered P88 for Manila to Hongkong flight! Bad trip!  Hehe... Comforting enough, when I tried to book, there were already no available seats. Lagi naman ako hindi maka-timing ng seat sale ng Cebu Pac! Ggrrr... Anyway, the important thing is, we're already booked. Hongkong, here we come!
