Oh how I love canned sardines. It's my favorite canned good! I love it straight from the can, poured over white, hot steamed rice with the squeeze of some calamansi juice or sauteed for additional flavor. It's easy and does not require a lot of time. It's a nice dish whenever you're busy. Plus the fact that sardines is healthy! For the recipe, please see below:

Ingredients:
1 155g or small can sardines in tomato sauce (with or without chili)
3 cloves of garlic, crushed
1/4 small size onion, chopped coarsely
1/4 small size onion, chopped lengthwise
1 small size tomato chopped
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 small size tomato chopped
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp cooking oil
1 tsp lemon or calamansi juice
3 tbsps water
salt and pepper to taste
spring onion / kinchay / flat leaf parsley for garnishing (optional)

Cooking Procedure:
- Heat the cooking oil in a pan.
- Sauté the garlic and onion and tomato
- Add the soy sauce and sardines in tomato sauce.
- Cook for 5 minutes in low to medium heat. Add water.
- Add the lemon or calamansi juice
- Add salt and pepper to taste. Stir and cook for one minute more.
- Turn off heat and then transfer to a serving bowl or plate. Garnish with chopped spring onion / kinchay / flat leaf parsley.
- Serve with steamed white rice. Enjoy!
