Sweet and Spicy Prawns Stir Fry Recipe

Guess what? Daddy is in the house! (Or shall I say, was?) And he's invading the kitchen!

I bought some fresh prawns from the grocery because I wanted to cook something special for hubby. Anything with prawns is "special" 'cause it's expensive! Haha!!! But due to a series of family activities, my work has been affected and I needed to catch up. So, my ever supportive hubby gave his helping hand and prepared this "perfectly cooked" (according to him... haha!) stir fry prawns.

Sweet and Spicy Prawns Stir Fry Recipe

INGREDIENTS

1/2 kg prawns
1 tbsp cooking oil
3 tsp garlic, minced
3 tsp ginger, minced
1 tbsp sugar
2 tsp soy sauce
2 tbsp tomato ketchup
2 tsp chili (labuyo)
2 tsp cooking wine (optional)
2 tbsp scallions, chopped
Salt and pepper

COOKING PROCEDURE

1. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, ketchup, sugar, and cooking wine. Mix and set aside.
2. Heat oil in a pan. Put in the ginger and garlic. Cook until light brown.
3. Add the shrimp and stir fry for 1 to 2 minutes.
4. Pour the soy sauce-ketchup mixture and chili. Stir fry for 2 to 5 minutes.
5. Add salt and pepper to taste.
6. Top with scallions.
7. Transfer to a serving plate. Serve and enjoy!

Actually, I'm allergic to something spicy. (Thank God, not to prawns!) And a week ago, he suffered from heartburn so he omitted the chili. But the deliciousness was not affected since the ginger still gave the needed spiciness. So yeah, he has the right, AHEM, to brag!

Thanks Daddae for this palatable dish! *Burp*

I also would like to give credit to whom credit is due... AHEM again... to my husband for the mouthwatering photos!
