Last week, Mr. Edwin Arceo, the Manager for Corporate Communications of CBN Asia, invited me (and my kids) to the Super Launch of the relived, reinvented, and reimagined Superbook. Just in time when I was thinking about if Sam is exposed too much on television or not... although he’s only watching from a child-friendly TV station, are there any better alternatives... if Ipad is okay for him, yada yada... You know, mommy matters, parenting and such. And because I was an avid fan of Superbook, I said, “Count me in” for the very first time. Di ninyo naitatanong eh, I don’t usually attend events. Si Superbook ang lang ang nakapagpa-OO sa ‘kin.
I’m so thankful I arrived very early ‘cause I had an opportunity to chat with the lovely CBN Asia girls - Ms. Len and Ms. Cathy of Periwinkle Confessions. I also met the pretty mommy Olga of The Tottering Mama and his cute, smart li'l boy. Really Super day for me.
The phenomenal 1980’s animation we love is back! Get ready as Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) brings you an all-new Superbook. Once more, viewers will experience a one of kind journey with triple the excitement.
Sounds family? Este familiar? Remember the two kids, Chris and Joy and the red robot named Gizmo who go through time-space warp and then find themselves in the Bible times? I know those of you who are Batang Superbook like me can totally relate. But to those who don’t remember or medyo nakababata ng konti lang naman sa amin (ehem!), here are some of the screenshots:
There you go!
The last time I've watched the Superbook Classic, it was during my college years. 10 to 12 years ago? (Uh-oh, now you know my age!) That time, it’s airing via Zoe TV 11. I've found it nice and cool since I could actually watch Bible stories, not just read them. Superbook left a lasting imprint in my heart that’s why I couldn’t say “no” to the new Superbook Super Launch!
The new Superbook Super Launch kicked off with the special and exclusive screening of “Let My People Go” episode. This episode tells the story of Moses and how he was called to lead Israel out of Egypt. Unburned flaming bush, staff-turned-to-snake, plagues, divided red sea... yeah, that's it! Watching the new Superbook in the state-of-the-art CGI animation just gave me goosebumps!!! and made me teary-eyed.
And yes, parents will enjoy and learn a lot too! Plus, watching Superbook together can be a perfect bonding activity for families.Superbook is the kind of TV series that I want my kid(s) to grow up with. This is the kind of TV program that this new generation should be watching, that all of us parents should support. It's packed with godly lessons that you cannot just find on any other animated series.
On June 1, 2013, the new Superbook’s pilot episode “In the Beginning” will air at 7:30 a.m. on GMA 7. In addition, Superbook Classic episodes will air every Sunday, starting June 2 at 7:30 a.m. also on GMA.And because you are special to me, I want to give you a glimpse of the first episode. Yay!
So, are you very much excited like me?
Are you ready to experience the greatest adventure ever written and told? Again, mark your calendars, save the date and spread the news. Beginning June 1, watch Superbook on Saturdays and Sundays on GMA, 7:30 a.m.
Also watch out for the new Superbook mall and school tours that will happen in Luzon and Metro Manila. You can also download the media-rich Superbook app for more images, videos and interactive games. Learning Bible stories has never been this so much fun!
Finally, I want to leave with you what the Scriptures says in Proverbs 22:6:Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Thank You God because we have the Superbook TV series. And thank You God for CBN Asia who always come up with encouraging, inspiring, empowering, life-changing programs.
