Sam loves to sing! + How singing helps child's development

A little warm up first...

Owkay, go solo!!!
I know my son is a brilliant singer (stage mother on!) but in case you didn't understand, he is singing "Old McDonald had a farm".

Sam here is making fun of his voice. Hehe...

And now, it's time for a duet! (Ehem, please excuse Mommy's voice!)

And with musical accompaniment, of course!!!

Praktis praktis pa anak pag may time. Then, when you grow up, sali ka sa The Voice! Baka sabihin ng judges, "You have to work on your diction first! The pronunciation of words! 'Coz we're having a hard time understanding the lyrics!" Haha!!! Di naman, paglaki ni Sam, di na sya bulol! LOL

Sam really knows a loooot of songs!!! Like "Number Song", "I'm a Blue Banana", "Bingo", "The Doc Is In", "Row, Row, Row Your Boat", "Phonic Songs"... I'll try to remember the others. Hehe... But sometimes, it's really hard to capture in video while he's singing. One, I need to be more attentive. Two, I need to carry my phone 100% of the time!  Three, oftentimes he stops when he sees me recording him!

I just read the benefits of singing for children...
Singing encourages a child to express their emotions and sharpens their ability to communicate while exercising lip and tongue movement. But one of the biggest benefits of singing is the repeated use of the ‘memory muscle’. - The School Run
Singing is a gymnasium for a child’s body and soul. Singing works deeply into our children’s physiology: deepening breath and heart rate, altering brain wave patterns and strengthening the immune system. It also releases endorphins, the body’s pleasure hormones, into the brain and body. Singing also exercises all the muscles in the head and neck, providing the pump action which empties the Eustachian tubes, helping to keep children free from middle ear infections! We all know how painful and damaging those can be for children! Singing can also help to build a child’s confidence and self-esteem, and can increase their capacity for self expression.

Recent research also indicates that a wide range of early music experiences have a powerful effect on the preschooler and kindergarten age child, influencing their language development, as well as increasing concentration, memory, visual and listening skills, spatial orientation and physical coordination. For children, we know how important these are as building blocks for their future learning and success in life. And singing can be done in such fun and meaningful ways!

Wow! Ang galing! I wanna kick myself for not knowing until now. Good thing is, I'm always singing with him. Natural na 'yon! Haha... Now that I'm already aware of the benefits, I'm gonna encourage Sam to sing more! Humanda kayo. Laging uulan! Hahaha!!!
