My Mini Tree Planting Project

For the love of planet earth and the environment, I put our vacant lot to good use and had a mini tree planting project last August 2011. We planted different fruit-bearing trees such as rambutan, lansones, mangosteen, mango and calamansi. We allotted 1-meter promixity from the fence.

rambutan or lansones lokong?

calamansi or sintunes

mango (manggang kalabaw)

Yes, I opted for planting trees instead of turning our vacant lot to a grandeur garden. Grandeur garden, for me, means hiring a landscape designer / artist to turn the whole lot to a beautiful garden with all those plants, flowers, water feature, well-manicured grass etc... You know what I mean right? I am scared of the expenses plus the care and maintenance. I mean, who has all these time in the world to care for a big garden if you are working full time with mountainous tasks, a mom and now a blogger? Yes, I can hire a gardener or a landscaper but that means I would spend more money. And I don’t think that it is a necessity. Who doesn't want a stress-reliever garden? If I win in the lottery, I will do that. But right now, I want our hard-earned money to be placed in savings and investment or  in the home. Right now, I am okay with the wild grasses and just trim them regularly. After all, these trees would grow and would bear much fruit for human consumption. Can you eat those outdoor plants and flowers? Hehe... But, don't get me wrong, I would still plant flowers to some areas, I would still grow carabao/prag/frog/bermuda/blue grass. Just little by little...
