Color Combination: Turquoise and Black

Turquoise is my favorite color. If blue is cool, relaxing and refreshing and green is the color of nature, combine the two to form turquoise and you'll get the perfect azure.

Black exudes elegance. As black is neutral, you can never go wrong with it if paired with any color.

Sam's room, the temporary dining room, one bathroom and the hallway accent wall are the areas in our house which are already painted with turquoise. Since, I already have a black accent chair and our window frames is made of powder-coated black aluminum, I am considering if I will really go for turquoise and black combination. At least, in one of those areas.

This the temporary dining room. Originally, this is Sam's play area. But for easy monitoring of an active and playful toddler, we transferred his play area closed to where we usually move.

Actually, this area is already in turquoise and black. I am just thinking if I will inject more objects in black. For example, black and white damask curtains and black chandelier. I will create a mood board soon.

Here are some of the design ideas for turquoise and black combination:

What do you think about turquoise and black combination? Is it classy or too cold? If it's too cold, the solution is to inject another popping color - yellow, pink, orange or red. Yes, you're right - warm colors!
