This is not your ordinary squid in coconut milk. It has tomatoes and kangkong leaves! It's perfect with patis labo and calamansi. This is "dish of the day" 'cause it's our main course for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Haha! We enjoyed it a lot! Buurrpp!
To cook this version of ginataang pusit, also called as "adobong pusit sa gata" (or squid in coconut milk) -
Prepare the ff. ingredients:
- onion
- garlic
- ripe tomatoes
- fish sauce / patis labo / bagoong
- coconut milk
- kangkong leaves / camote tops
- finger chillies
Follow these instructions:
- Saute the onion and garlic like you usually do.
- Throw in 2 to 3 pieces of ripe tomatoes.
- Add some fish sauce (or bagoong, mas yummy!).
- Then add the coconut milk.
- Bring to boil and allow the liquid to thicken so it becomes creamier.
- Add the squid, kangkong leaves (or camote tops) and finger chillies.
- Bring to boil for 30 seconds (or a minute but don't overcook) and then transfer to a serving plate.
That's it! Tantyahan na lang ha! Haha!
